Highway 108 is known as the all weather highway, however, in the winter it is a good idea to call ahead for road conditions. Contact Cal Trans at 1-800-427-7623 or visit their website at http://www.dot.ca.gov/ enter 108 as the highway number.  Please be advised that a portion of highway 108 does close during the winter months. This portion is above Pinecrest and Strawberry and will NOT affect your travel. 

It is always advisable to carry chains when traveling in the high elevations.
